Tuna Salad Sandwich
The tuna fish sandwich was fast-food before there ever was a Subway Restaurant. With the easiest, most flavourful ingredients in the world it's not a surprise. A searching mom or rushing dad will easily grab a can or tin of tuna and mix it with fresh celery or tasty relish and some oh-so-smooth mayonnaise for a quick and easy bite.

Tuna Melt Sandwich
One of my favourite variations is the Tuna Melt. It is exactly the same as a Tuna Sandwich but its canned tuna, salad ingredients and bread get a special addition! Cheese adds some poignant flavour to spice up the tuna's subtle undertones. The tuna melt sandwich is my favourite sandwich, and if you check out some of our recipes it'll be yours too!

Just remember that the "classic" recipe isn't necessarily the only one! If you want to mix and match some ingredients, try using some variations. Heating the sandwich on a frying pan or in the oven adds some subtle falvours to it that most recipes don't bring out, even if it's not a tuna melt. Try adding capers, relish, anchovies, different types of cheese for your melts, variants of bread etc. These all make the recipe original, and sometimes you'll find something you just love!
